Celibacy and the Church

There seem to be few greater hubs in the world for paedophilia and child sexual abuse than the church.
Why is this?? How could places of heavenly sanctity descend into hell for hundreds of thousands of children?
I think the principle of celibacy has a lot to do with it. The scriptures do not say people should be celibate. Celibacy is a distortion of scripture. Distortions of scripture are dangerous and this is possibly the best example.
Don't get rid of religion, get rid of false doctrine.
